We went on a road trip looking for California Foliage in October 2010.
This was the route we took on Friday exploring a bunch of the canyons on the east side of the Sierras between Bridgeport and June Lake
And we found it!
With my broken ankle, I took all my pix from the van window, or within leaning distance of the van.
Joe could wander about and get the best composition.
Foliage, mountains, and snow.
My camera has a "Foliage" Scene setting, which showcases the vivid colors.
We are east of the Sierras, looking west.
There had been a snow a week earlier.
Lots of yellow aspens.
Not so many orange ones.
Every drainage had foliage.
A dark background shows it off nicely.
There were many aspen lined alleys.
My attempt at stitching two shots together.
And more aspens.
My favorite "Aspen Alley".
The end of a lovely road trip.
