Colorado River Grand Canyon, October 2012 - joefromsf
We did a Night Float this time: The last 40 miles are flat water. So instead of spending two days rowing endlessly, we lashed all the boats together into one big barge. We re-rigged everything so each boat had 2 or more "sleeping pads" on them. We organized shifts, so 2 people (one at each end of the barge) were on shift for 2 hours, and kept us from hitting canyon walls, going over rocks or shrubbery in the river, or spinning endlessly in the eddies. Here we see Jose, Piper and Roger during the Night Float.
